Avoidance

We all avoid things in some way. This can be starting something new or social situations for example.

There are two main ingredients with avoidance:
✦ There is something external scaring us
✦ We don’t trust ourselves in how to handle the situation

This doesn’t go for situations that are life threatening or physical harmful, as they are more instinctive and unconsciously driven.

We are talking patterns that are conscious, but still get influenced by those parts of the brain that are instinctive and unconscious.

The only way to change them is choosing differently on a conscious level. What is motivating you? Why would you like to make this change? What is holding you back? Take action and do it!
